Dragon's-Tears

“I’m going to go talk to him.” Atha said.
The unicorn shook his head and snorted.
Atha patted his mane. “Let me down.” she said.
The unicorn bent obediently and allowed her to dismount. “Please be careful.” his voice was quiet.
The only things she could hear were the beating of the dragon’s wings, the pounding of her heart, and the dull plink-plink-plink as she walked towards the dragon, which was hovering lower to the ground as she approached it.
“Dragon,” she said, and her voice was muffled, as if she were inside of a big tent, or under the bed. “What is wrong? Why are you crying, and why are you bothering these people?”
“Waaaarrrrrrgghhhh!” the dragon bellowed. “Come no closer!”
Atha hesitated, her scepter spitting purple sparks. She wasn’t sure what to do. Her legs wanted her to run away, but her head was telling her to keep going. Her heart was somewhere in the middle. She was just opening her mouth to speak again, when-
“Please, your Majesty!” the dragon shouted mournfully. “I don’t want to hurt you! I’ve destroyed so much!”
And Atha saw that the tears falling from the dragon’s eyes were bright gemstones, falling plink-plink-plink on the paving stones under her feet.

Notes about creating this page:

The background paper is made from three papers, two from Tina Williams Fruit of the Spirit and one from TraciJ’s Glitter Daze. I can’t remember what I did to them exactly, I used one as an overlay, and erased parts out, whatever to get the kind of action fantasy effect I wanted.
The arch element, dragon, scepter and scepter special effects are poser graphics. I resized and recolored the arch and changed the property to make it an overlay so itwould merge with the background. There’s also a picture of the White Tower in Rothenburg which I converted to an overlay for the same reason. I like the way it glows from in back of the notebook paper.

The notebook paper, by the way, is from Angel Wings and Things’ Pink and Brown kit, which has a lot of fun journal papers in it. I reduced the opacity to 50%. The top frame is from Snowraven’s Medieval Dreams kit and the bottom frame is from Babette’s Funkalicious kit from Just for the Scrap of it. The dragn’s tears are clip art from DK.
I actually had to add some more paper under the text in Scrapbook Max, something I haven’t done yet with one of these LO’s becuase the background under the text was too varied in color and I couldn’t pick a text color that would stand out over all of it. Not ideal, but you’ve gotta be able to read it.

Fonts are A picture and Goudy medieval.
